Why buy a top of the range TENS?
All the TENS in this section have more pulse modes ( between
five and twelve) than the TENS in the other sections ( usually just three).
The three common pulse modes are normal ( felt as a constant tingling),
burst ( felt as a two or so bursts of pulses every second ) and modulation
( felt as a massage effect or the tingling coming and going). Having three
pulse modes is fine for most patients. Most patients will find one pulse
mode which is most comfortable for them and will regularly use that one
pulse mode.
However, a significant number of patients do try different
modes in different situations, or will try different modes just so they
don't get used to the one mode. Many patients find the special
mode useful for normal pain as well.
Another reason for buying a top of the TENS is they are
generally better made and usually have longer warranties than bottom and
middle of the range TENS.
Can I get a Rebate?
Most health funds provide rebates, some generous, for
all the TENS in this catalogue. Please check with your health fund.
Worker's Compensation / Third Party
Remember, if you have an injury claim under workers compensation
or third party and your doctor recommends a TENS for your pain, then the
insurance company may pay for the cost of the sale or hire of the TENS.
If we get approval from the insurance company, then we bill the insurance
company direct. Just contact us with your claim details. |
Eclipse Plus
Since 1986, Masters Medical has been selling Medtronic brand TENS. These
TENS included the Neuromod, Comfortburst, Selectra, Comfortwave, Eclipse,
Eclipse Plus, MedTENS 100, Dynex II, Dynex III and Dynex IV. Some years
ago, Medtronic sold it's "external" stimulator, that is TENS, division
to Empi. Medtronic TENS brands current at the time of the acquisition included
the Eclipse Plus, MedTENS 100 and Dynex III. These were taken over by Empi
and added to their range of TENS and TENS accessories. The best known TENS
from Empi is the Epix-XL. Empi continues to sell the Eclipse Plus. The
Dynex and MedTENS 100 have been dropped.
Masters Medical sells the Eclipse Plus and Epix-XL as well as accessories
for current and older models of Medtronic TENS. Leadwires are available
for all these TENS. Unfortunately, the specialised battery pack for the
Comfortburst is no longer available. |
